My nine week old is trying to roll over

he can already roll on to his side, and I suppose he wont be long before he is able to roll on to his tummy. This seems to be remarkably young for this sort of behaviour.
Any one else have a baby who has done this so young?

I am not particularly happy about this by the way.

DS has rolled over from his tummy to his back twice. he's not even 6 weeks. i think it's because he is a big boy and has strong muscles. he could support his head pretty much from birth too, which i thought was unbelievable. this morning i caught him on his side in his cot.

Lilac, wow.
It's a bit of a shock, I want him to stay put for a bit longer. Lets hope crwaling is still a long way off.

i think my ds was about 4 weeks when he rolled from his back to his tummy. his dumy felt out and he was trying to reach it and ended up rolling over. has only done it a few times since though. he too could hold his head for about 20 seconds from birth.

My ds who is only 3 weeks, has gone from his back onto his side a couple of times but like Lilac's LO, he is a big boy and can also lift/hold his head very well.

My dd did this around eight weeks and then always slept on her tummy from then on.I used to worry about that but health visitor said she was ok if she could roll over on her own and was obviously more comfortable that way. she was also very strong like the other babies mentioned here and could lift her head up when on her tummy from around 3-4 months and was crawling by 5-6 months. I wouldnt worry- it probably means they are exploring ways of doing what they want when they want! My dd is now 14 months and walking and still doing just that!!

My DD#2 consistently rolled from her back onto her tummy from 11 weeks and insisted since then on sleeping on her tummy much to my horror. I've now learned to accept that is how she sleeps though. She is now just 5 months and is getting onto all 4s ready to start crawling soon. She also pulls herself to standing now just holding onto my fingers and these last 2 days she is actually trying to take steps whilst doing that. She doesn't really have the balance there yet for that but her general balance is getting quite good and she can sit unaided for short periods though we still provide soft things round her as she flops over after a short while. The thing that I find so hard to understand though is that DD#1 was not like this at all. She didn't roll over until 6 months, crawled at nearly 10 months and finally walked at 17 months. Just goes to show ho different each baby is. Enjoy your little one.
