my ds used to be a jolly chap. he is now constantly whining. he smiles one minute and whines the next. hes trying to walk, is it frustration. he also has little tantrums where he pushes me away and throws stuff. Sad

My ds is 9 months and has got a bit like this, especially when I dare to lie him down to change his nappy. He also used to be good as gold. Could it be teeting too? I think my ds was teething but also frustration as he constantly wants to stand up now he knows he can. I try not to pander to him when he is whining and hope it's just another challenging phrase that they seem to go through.

If he pushes you away, I'd just walk way and leave him too it. Agree it could be frustration and maybe teething too?

We've always just ignored tantrums, a little reminder that screaming doesn't get you what you want won't hurt sometimes too Smile

Ditto but DS 14 mo is now a bit less grumpy that he mastered walking. Except we now get a lot of crying from tumbles and tantrums when he can't, for example, walk up the stairs...!

And is he getting enough sleep? Is he on one nap or two?

Have you heard of the Wonder Weeks? Give it a Google, might explain a few things, he's prob just going through a difficult developmental stage and will come out the other end
