question for parents of early teethers

My DD has 8 teeth (4 along the bottom and 4 along the top) and is 8.5 months. She has had all of these since 7 months. She got her first two at 13 weeks old so has been an early teether so far.

She is last night and today showing all signs of teething (grumpy, poor napping, poor eating, a disturbed night etc.) so I am wondering if her molars are starting to make an appearance. I realise this is extremely early for this, so am wondering if anyone has an experience of an early teether, and if so did their molars come early as the rest of their teeth, or was it into the second year with the normal teethers?!

I think it could easily be her molars already. My DD got her teeth early too. She is 17 months now and has 16 teeth. 12 of them were there by the time she turned one, including her first 4 molars. Only the 2nd lot of molars are still to come now. Her first molars started to come through about 9 months I think. Prepare yourself though - I found my DD suffered a lot more with the molars than the first 8 teeth. At least they get all the teething hell out of the way early though! Good luck!

From personal experience with ds1 all his teeth came through early including his first set of molars. He's got all but his very back molars at 19 months. His molars were coming through at 10 / 11 months & as I seem to recall took a couple of weeks. These didn't seem to bother him as much as his canines did.

Can't really remember exactly how long it took, 2-3 weeks for all 4 of them to come through I think. I just checked her baby book to see if I had written it down there, but no - she is DC2 so her baby book is rather neglected!

My ds teethed early - 4 teeth at 4 months, 16 teeth by 13 months, got his molars around 11 months. Maybe a bit before actually. They took around a month - a few days of teething, the a break of a few days. A few more days of teething, etc. after a month 3 of them popped through within days of each other, then two more weeks of teething before the fourth came through. Same thing happened with his canines. Was not fun :(

my DD was an early teether to, had the full set apart from back molars by 15 months!!

her molars took about 4-6 weeks to come through completey and were by far the worse, they really played her up bless her - i thought once the tooth broke through that was the end of it, but not the case, it took ages for the rest of the tooth to come through - not a good time at all Sad

i'm sooo happy she has now has her full set and no more teething until they start falling out in a few years lol xx

DD had all her teeth (bar the final set of molars) by 14mths. The 'toddler' molars didn't arrive until about 20mths - she got her first tooth at 4.5 mths.

I was told by a dentists this means she's likely to start loosing them early too, but she's now 4 and still has them all.
