Encouraging standing on flat feet

My 7mo old DS has started pulling himself up to his feet recently but he won't put his feet flat, he stays in his tip toes. And often on the wrong side of his toes, I.e. his toe nails are on the floor and his toes curled under.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can correct this? I'm concerned he is going to do damage curling his toes under like this!

Might be worth asking your HV?

Does he use a walker? they can be associated with tiptoeing.

the thing is... he wont be able to walk like this so this will usually correct itself once he starts getting heavier.

If you use a walker... i would stop straight away.

My DS did exactly this and it looked awful, then at 8 months he started standing normally, just like that! I think it coincided with him letting go work one hand and cruising, etc, when he needed proper stability, so I would say don't worry.

I want to add that I had a jumperoo for a month or so and I'm not sure whether that's why he stood so oddly but I do second what people above are saying about jumperoos and sit-in walkers.

He is only 7 months old. I think you are worrying far too much. I wouldn't worry until he is able bear weight on his own.
