Behaviour/development

4 year old and bad behaviour

First time I have posted on here. I really want to know if my DS' behaviour falls within the boundaries of normal. He is 3 yrs old and at preschool - probably one of the youngest in his year (he is due to start school this September).

Anyway, I am having a persistent problem with him throwing toys all the time. I have tried every technique known to man. We have had reward charts where when he gets a certain amount he can choose a toy, coupled with time-outs. Nothing works and this evening he threw a heavy bath toy at his brother's head. Most of the time he is reasonably well behaved and quite sweet but he really has moments of complete meltdown. He has quite a short fuse as well.

I have wondered if there is something that goes on at school however, we have not had any bad reports except that they have said he is quite impulsive.

I don't know why I am thinking about this but I feel he should be growing out of some of his behaviours and he isn't. A couple of close acquaintances from our church have told me outright that he is really badly behaved.

I guess I just want to know if his behaviour is normal or if it is starting to point to behavioural problems as people are suggesting.

Have you actually asked preschool if he's throwing things etc there?
