Ear buddies or similar

Hello all
I'm new here so please do move this if it is in the wrong place.

Sticking out ears run in my family - Both my brothers had theirs pinned back when they were around 10 years old and both had been teased beforehand. From what I remember though it was rather uncomfortable and painful for them. My little boy has unfortunately inherited it as well, but also one sticks out significantly more where the 'crease' in his ear hasn't formed properly.

If they were I would maybe wait longer and see if it fixes itself, but it sticks out so much that when he turns his head he folds it over in his sleep so I think it is only going to get worse.

I have seen a few things on the internet about 'ear buddies' which work like splints to shape the ear. DS is just 3 months so there is time to try them as a painless way of trying to correct it now. I can't help but think he will thank me later...

So my question is, has anyone used these recently (I have seen some threads on here but they looked quite old) and does anyone know where I might be able to get some? Obviously if there is no option I would get them from the makers, but they are quite expensive and I'd be fine with getting some secondhand ones and sterilising them.

Many thanks in advance.

Bump.

I've gone ahead and bought them as his ear is sticking out more day by day as he lies on it and he is starting to look quite lopsided, but I'd still be interested in any info or thoughts from anyone.

Thanks

I used them on my DD (who is now 4.5) when she was around 6 months old, and they really did work. Her ears weren't too bad, but bad enough for me to want to do something. She wore the Ear Buddies for about 2 months, and they really made a difference. Her ears now neatly sit back and I am so pleased we did it!

Using these on DD (6 months) at the moment. Started at 4 months so has another few weeks to go. It's a big faff to get them on once they're mobile and curious and annoying explaining it to ppl but well worth it. When we change the tapes we can already see it's made a huge difference. You've nothing to lose really. Think you can only buy them from the makers. Good luck!
