DS (4) keeps pooing in his pants...

He's been potty trained for a long time but has occasionally had accidents. Lately he has been doing it daily, DH says he used to do it himself when he was that age and that it's just that he can';t be bothered to go to the loo, anyone else had experience with this?

Mine is the same, and I've reached the same conclusion. We've ignored, told off, rewarded... yet it carries on. I think let him get on with it and keep telling myself he won't be doing it in a couple of years. I hope. Grin

If it is little bits of poo (sorry TMI) that looks runny it could actually be constipation. The runny bits leak round the edge of the big poo. The big poo causes a loss of sensation in the lower bowel so that they don't always know a big poo is coming. My DD had/has this. Doctor gave us Movicol and all was better in a week...... but she has to keep taking the Movicol for now.....
