My dd is 2years now and lately she has started to refuse point blanc to eat anything (other than sweets of course!!) at all. The only way me or my dh can get anything all inside her is to feed her our selves!! We have tried the leaving her if she hungry she'll eat her self thing erm.....nope she sat there for 2hours!! and then had us up in the night because she was hungry! Is she just lazy? We have encoursged her to eat her self since a young age and this is only just happening!! Any ideas??

Sometimes kids are just too tired to feed themselves, or simply can't be bothered. She has also probably realised that this is a great way to get lots of attention. Personally I would feed her at every meal, without saying anything about it or making a fuss, until she starts wanting to feed herself again - she will, honest! Also, if she really isn't eating anything don't let her have sweets, and don't use them as a bribe (if you eat two more mouthfulls you can have a sweet etc.). I know how desperate you can get with a non eater (I found it very hard to cope with a non-eating DD after two boys who ate for England) but it's important that food doesn't turn into a battleground. Good luck Smile
