Speech Therapy - what age is best?

Ex-H has just suggested that dd needs speech therapy. She is a very chatty 3 yr old who will be 4 at the end of April. She has a very slight lisp, which is improving as she gets older and I am not worried and her nursery are not concerned either.
I sent ex-H off to do his own research, and said that I didn't think it was something to be overly worried about. Should I be more concerned? Is there an optimum time for children to have speech therapy?

You could always get your HV or GP to check her and see what they think. DS1 had speech therapy at 4. My HV said it is just a good idea to get it sorted before they start reception.
