Girls name ideas to go with my sons' names

DancingOnMyBladder · 30/04/2010 14:31

I have two sons already and am expecting baby number 3 which we have just discovered is a little girl.

Our boys are called James and Harry and we are struggling to think of names which 'go' with these and that we both like.

Obviously something quite traditional but do not like Elizabeth, Catherine or Emma (so if that offends) but like prettier versions such as Charlotte, Hannah, Emily, Sophie etc

Any ideas please!

What about Alice? I think Alice is a lovely name that fits in well with your other two.

Thank you for all the suggestions.

We think we have narrowed it down to these four, please could you let me know your thoughts.

(Haven't gone with my names above for other reasons like family members names, not quite 'going' with the surname, and evil stalker ex gf's of my hubby lol)

Emily

Katie

Eloise

Lucy

Many Thanks x

I don't mind trendy/ popular names as tbh it doesn't always mean they will be one of many. My sons have popular names and James is the only James in his whole school and Harry is a nn for his longer name which we call him when we've encountered others. So there's ways around it.

My issue with trendiness is more that a name can really date. James and Harry are both timeless.

I do really like the name Eloise, I just think it will be one of those 2010 names. If that doesn't bother you, then absolutely go for it.

Emily, Lucy and Katie are all more popular than Eloise but again, they are timeless names.

Lucy sounds lovely with James and Harry. ooh they will need a walled garden, short trousers and petticoats..just Lucy for the pettcoats though. love it!

I really like Lucy thank you.

Hubby is having slight doubts in that i have a distant (adult) relative called Lucy but i don't think this matters, do you?

Do you have any ideas for a middle name? Surname begins with W and is 2 syllabals.
