Call our daughter April?

I loved the name and DP likes it (its the most we agree on any name) but I didn't think you could call a baby April who wasn't born in April.

DD2 was due on Sunday and as I was so sure I'd go early we discounted it.

Now I am overdue, should we.

The concern is our Surname, Foot.

Could we have April Foot born on April Fool's day? Is that setting her up for a lifetime of ridicule??

Oh it would be April Ellen Foot.

Yes it is. No you shouldn't.

Hoping this is a joke post. April + surname other than Foot might be Ok. You can't do it with yours I'm afraid!

No. You can't. But you might get away with Avril.

She would have to sign herself A. Foot for the rest of her life. Please don't do it.

Oh, I like it. Quite suprised that no one else does.
TBH anything is going to sound a bit mad with Foot!

Its really not a joke but maybe hormone induced insania! I couldn't decide if it was cute or cruel!

DD1 is A.Foot also, DP's sister is also A.Foot.

Unfortunately pixiestix is right, not much goes with Foot hence why we still have no name!

I think with a surname like foot you can actually afford to have a reasonably fancy first name.

I'm not really suggesting this but something like Arabella Foot. Arabella wouldn't be a name I'd suggest but I can't think of anything else for some reason. I just mean something a little longer and more substantial as a first name!

If she's born on the first of April then don't draw attention to the fact that she was born in April by actually CALLING her April.

If she's born 2nd onwards then it would be ok I think. Not crazy about the fact that the first syllable is APE. But as a whole, the name is nice. If that makes sense.

this made me laugh out loud! Bless you. Hormone induced insania. I agree about the fancy name thing. Hermione Foot...good author name!

Well DD1 is Ainslie Frances.

Shortlist for DD2 so far has been (middle name hopefully Ellen)

Carys
Isobel
Elizabeth
Roslyn

But I'm still not put off the April idea, I suppose when she arrives I will have seen sense!

I strongly agree that April Foot is a bad idea. Sorry.

How about...

Eleanor Foot
Serena Foot
Irena Foot
Leonora Foot
Sophia Foot
Penelope Foot
Catherine Foot?

These are just off the top of my head. I love Hermione Foot too!

Good luck with the birth and naming!
