thanks for your views!! im not really bothered about the name being too popular, just want him to have a nice name that he doesnt hate when he's older which i think he would if i gave hime something a little more unusual...im just struggling to pick ONE!! hmmmm.

Think all of them are great..

At a push I prefer Finn to Finlay and Ben to Benjamin. Charlie and Ollie/Oliver - great - know lots of (older) lovely ones.

I guess it depends on what goes best with your surname - sorry not very useful there!

they all go well with my surname...begins with H and is quite a common surname...maybe Ben can go off the list because ony syllable first name not really good with one syllable middle name...down to 3!!

I have an Ollie like 50% of the population who gave birth in the last 5 years, but I love the name, and so does he.

Not so keen on Benjamin as it means "favourite son" so bit if a risk if more children are planned

Finlay is maybe a bit faddy? but I still like it.

Charlie is nice, but Charles is a bit straightlaced?

I've got a Charles/Charlie - along with at least one other person at any given playground/cinema/zoo/school year. Funnily enough - he likes Charles (although I don't all that much)

I have an irrational hatred of the name Finlay sorry - maybe because it seems to be one of these names that suddenly became popular out of nowhere a few years ago and now they are everywhere!

I like Benjamin best. It's a classic and I think it will date less. Also lots of nickname potential.

Not Charlie...there are sooo many of them.

I vote for Oliver, shortened to Ollie (but not Ollie on birth certificate)

Oliver and Finlay are great. Ollie and Finn for short. Finlay Ray isn't great so Oliver is the best.

If it's Charlie not Charles then I prefer Benjamin, so

  1. Oliver
  2. Benjamin
  3. Charlie
  4. Finlay
