Sonny?

I am expecting and do not plan to find out the sex. I have loads of girls names in mind but struggling with boys. There are alot of boys on my husbands side of the family and they all have lovely names that I would have liked. We are really racking our brains for ideas. I like Sonny but dh isn't so keen. What does everyone else think?

It's a cute nickname for a child, but I don't like it as a proper name.

Great for a nn, but not a 'proper name' IMO.

But, your kid, so your choice. MIL hates my choices (all the more reason to use 'em!)

Thanks for all your replies, I like the name but agree that it is nicknamey! Also I forgot to mention that I have 3 son's and they have traditional names. With my son's, we loved their names and had an idea of what to call them before birth. I really want to feel this way with this child's name. I'm presuming this baby is a boy as I already have three and I don't want to give 'him' any old name!

I really do not like Sonny, but can't pinpoint why.

Not crazy about it for a boy. It sounds like pet or love. dykwim? listen here sonny.

But I love Domingo! (Sunday) in case you're wondering where I pulled domingo from. and Dom would be a great nn.

I called my childhood teddy Sonny. I've still got him somewhere. I love that teddy.
