Here's the shortlist of baby names I'm considering that I generated with Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder. Let me know what you think.

Boys

Hayley is nice. I'm never sure how to pronounce Caitlin.

Caitlin & Jamie: just don't do anything for me. Jamie could be a girl (Jamie Lee Curtis), and there are (imvho) much prettier versions of Catherine -- like, er, Catherine, or Catalina or Kathleen.

But nothing wrong with them, just don't ring my bell.

Hayley is better, but people won't know how to spell it or Caitlin.

Sorry to be so negative! If you love any of them just ignore me & go for it.

I love Jamie for a boy! If we ever have a DS will be top of the list. I'm not really keen on either of the girls names - sorry!

I have never heard "Cotchleen"!
But Kathleen is nice, too, and no question marks how to say it.

Jamie is very cute but I would use James with the nickname Jamie so he has more options when he's older and doesn't want to sound so childish.

Hayley - don't like it at all, sorry! Very dated, 70s and 80s sounding.

Caitlin - Okay but overused. Kate would be lovely, or Catherine.

Jamie reminds me of Jamie and the Magic Torch! I prefer James.

Hayley was quite popular with my generation (I'm 31). There were at least 2 in my year at school. Can't see why there would be an issue with spelling though. Could be quite sweet.

Caitlin's all right. I've only ever heard the Anglicized pronunciation - I didn't realise it was incorrect. Not keen on the proper pronunciation now I do.

Sorry, I realize I'm hardly set ablaze by any of your names.

You called ?!

I really like Jamie, although I would use James, and Jamie as a nn. (I was going to be named Jamie if I was a boy).

I prefer Caitlin
