So excited to finally be able to post this! Just had my 12 week scan so feeling much happier after some early bleeding. This is my current list (note my list - DH doesn't necessarily agree with me on these).

I'm looking for opinions and inspiration based on the things I like. I can't take your ribbing, I've already had DD's name described as sanitary-wear on here

none are really my kind of names but if I had to choose I'd go for Raphael or Theo (without the dore) for a boy. Quite like Otis too.

Girls would be Beatrice or Betty.

Like Otis and Soren (although doesn't it mean severe, not sure about that). Other boys names not my cup of tea.

Like all the girls names. Clementine or Beatrice would be my favourites.

Betty/Bettina- I like Betty, but the only Bettina I ever knew was a 6ft German woman with hairy arms.

I like Otis (or Reuben, but it's a bit common these days) for a boy, and Isadora or Beatrice for a girl (although again I know quite a few Beatrices).

I can't remember what your dd's name is unfortunately.

Don't want to post DD's name as it is quite unusual, but if you want to know it is the name of a girl in the Sweet Valley High series of books , also the same name as Kate Moss's daughter , but I love it anyway.

Love reading people's opinions, good and bad bizarrely. DH not keen on Theo, nor Emmanuel because of the porn connection (means nothing to me though).

Hmm, not quite sure about Cecily, though I do like Cecilia, hadn't thought about Francesca and do quite like it.

Now, is it Clementeen or Clementyne? I really like it either way, but wonder if it is a bit Tilly/Martha/Maisie/Kitty IYSWIM? We definitely live in a Tilly/Martha/Maisie/Kitty area (all lovely names but v popular atm).

We have a Theodore, but it is now horribly popular - I probably wouldn't use it today, but as he's rising 6 I think we are ahead of the "great unwashed" curve! Otis reminds me of lifts and drain covers (being a surveyor!) and I'm not too keen on the others being a bit too biblical for me - although I do like Soren (I worked with a lovely Danish chap called Soren once).

Girls - Beatrice is on our list for a girl and I also love Clementine/Clemmie for a girl, although as (it sounds as though) we live in similar areas, I do know 3 under 3....

I see that Ophelia is actually becoming more popular that strikes me in as being in the same name family as your other choices.

I do like Octavia though, although it might be a bit 'harsh'.

I used to love Octavia and if DH had agreed would have used it by now but now I feel it's a bit OTT for most to get away with. I heard it yelled in a cafe the other day and someone it didn't sound right at all.

I know one who is known affectionately as 'Occy' which reminds me of darts.

Like Raphael and much prefer this to Rafferty which sounds made up to me (although it's apparently I am told).
