I have been thinking about this name for a while and it has really really grown on me. My husband is unconvinced and thinks it's not a name for anyone under, say, 50...

Anyone any thoughts?

ChoreDodger (fine name!!) - this past weekend was the Jewish festival Purim, aka the Feast of Esther. All about how Esther saved the Jews from being wiped out etc etc.

I think it's is fine for a baby but it is not too my personal taste. It sounds v serious to me and not all that feminine/ pretty.

As long as she can talk, then I guess she's not too young to do the seder questions. Possibly with lots of coaching and bribery.

Have Purim a week late! It's always important to dress up and eat hamentashen!

It's so not an old lady name -- tell your DH. Esther shared the number 17 spot with Abigail for girls' names in NYC in 2008.

It is an old lady name to me, and I am not keen on them.

But plenty of people seem to love this name, so go for it if you like it!

Very pretty, I love it. It's sort of soft and airy. I don't associate it with the elderly in the slightest.
