I really love Consuela. Of your list, I'm very fond of Sofia (especially since it means wisdom).

I have 3 spanish nieces Danniella, Eva and Lucia.

Alejandra is gorgeous. Alejandro is my all time fave boys name.

Also love Ofelia.

Buy they're fond of their 'a' ending girls names over there aren't they?!

Do you know the meaning of Consuela by any chance, have the meaning for others.

The girl's name Consuela \c(o)-nsue-la, con-suela\ is a variant of Consuelo (Latin, Old French), and the meaning of Consuela is "consolation, comfort".

There ya go.

I like sofia best from your list.

Here, have our baby girl list (DC2 is a boy). It includes unusual ones but all are pronounced and spelt the same in Spanish and English -

Catalina
Ainoa (Basque name)
Mireya
Sylvia (well, not unusual)
Beata

DD is Sabela Maria, but this is Galician.

There are lovely traditional ones like Carmen and Rosa.

I also really like Marisol, Mari Luz, Mari Carmen etc...

So many I like! I could go on...

Pity we can't find a boys name we want to use.

I liked Catalina when i was looking for the others, but my first daughter is called Kayleigh (her dad chose the name) and when looking for a translation for hers it gave me Catalina. Annoyingly!

A little girl I know has a Spanish father, English mother, and is called Claudia which works well in both languages (although pronounced differently).
Load of pretty Spanish names I think.

I love Lucia and my other fave Spanish girls name is Belen.....no chance of me ever using it though.

The pronunciation is not very transferable. Does this matter?

Bella would be 'Baya' in Spanish (ish)

Angela pronounced with a soft 'g'

Sorry of you know this.

I love Mercedez but again english pronuncitation would ruin it drastically! My friend is called manolo and english people cant fathom it, so hes now using manuel!

Alejandra will soon be pronounced correctly by people who have the Lady Gaga album, one of the songs is called 'Alejandro'.

Paloma is totally brilliant and is On My List if we ever have another DD.

My DD is called Lola and apparently that's a contraction of Lourdes (our Lady of Sorrows though)

I've always liked Marisol as LaTrucha suggested, and also Mariposa (Butterfly) for some reason - even looking at it now, I like it, but I don't know why.

I like Carmen, Paloma and Pilar.
