I think Im becoming addicted to this board I'll cool it for a while after this!

Petronel.

Cute or Ugly??

I've started to like it but I have a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that actually it is an ugly name!

Yes, sorry -it sounds like a medication

an extra la on the end makes it slightly more acceptable, imo.

You mean for a boy?

Anyway. Boy or girl. Its really ugly, I think. Reminds me of petrol, ugh.

there's an old Enid Blyton story about a doll called Peronel

that's quite sweet

but Petronel sounds like cheap fuel

Ohhh, is it Peronel?? I was thinking of the Enid Blyton story myself. About a naughty doll that runs away isn't it? Peronel is actually much nicer.

Ugly. Hair lotion for men or something like that.
Petronille feels nicer.

Well, I love it! Also love Peronel. They are both valid forms of the same name, also found as Petronella or Petronilla, but I prefer the simpler versions. Peronel is softer and sweeter, I suppose. What about Petra; that's a bit more "useable" day-to-day?

Sounds like a bird to me but I think I am thinking "Petrel"

Don't.
