Pronounced Lie-La.

Which spelling do you like best?

Do you like it?

Is it a bit wishy-washy sounding?

I would spell your pronunciation Lila.
The first seems a bit "trendy spelling", the second looks likes you spelled Leila incorrectly and Leila I would pronounce Lay-la or Lee-la

Leila will always be pronounced lee-la and will drive you mad so I would drop that one.

I would go with Lyla or Lila.

My neice is called Leala pronounced lee-la, I'm not too keen on it but then I'm a traditionalist when it comes to names.

Leila is pronounced Lay-la, but will your DD will be called Lie-la, lee-la, lay-a etc all her life, as someone said, although it's getting more popular.

Please don't call her Leila, but pronounce it wrong! It spoils it for all the Leilas who have spent 30 odd years correcting people!

Lyla is the only one that looks like Lie-la. It looks pretty. And there's a song!

My grandmother is called this and it's spelt Laila... just to throw another one in!

Personally, I'd use Lila. I really like it.

See here www.askoxford.com/firstnames/lila?view=uk it says that Lila is a variant spelling of Leila!

Mine is called Lilah (like De-lilah). This is a traditional victorian spelling. Our Lilah is anything but wishy washy!!

I have a small Lila amongst my relatives. It's not my taste, but it suits her very nicely, is very easy to spell and is always pronounced the same way.

Lilo? deflates easily.

These are all early noughties/Kate Moss sprog names. Like the Mia/Maia/Maya trilogy. Very dated.

Apart from the well-established Leila and Laila, they all sound like sanitary ware.

I know a Lila, in her forties, v glamorous. Pronounced Lie-la. But I think it's also a french nn for Elizabeth pronounced Leela? There's a 'Patisserie Lila' (pron. lee-la) near work..

Lilah would be the obvious spelling to me.

Lilah or Lyla i prefer for the pronounciation of your choice.

Leila is usually pronounced Lay-la?

I would spell it Lila.

However, I' don't really like it, much prefer

Lara (more classic)
Lyra (for some reason, sounds more feminine - and reminds me of the word Lyrical)

I would pn Leila as Layla, too (which is what my name books say, also) and am considering that for this one. Lilah would be the prettiest and least ambiguous spelling IMO.

Definitely not Layla, agree with the others. I would spell it Lilah if I were you. Or Lila.

Leila is arabic and pronounced Lay La. There are lots of spellings of it including laila and layla and leilah etcetc. But it is not Lyla. I love the nale Laila, Lyla I'm not so keen on but it's pretty. But spell it properly, not Leila or Liela.
