Help - I am stuck!

DH and I both agree on a boy's name that we love, but girls are proving more difficult.

On the one hand, DH refuses to engage and come up with names (except Joan, which is my mother's name and his grandmother's name - we're def using it for the middle name), but on the other hand, he vetoes everything I come up with!

This is what I have suggested (and he has rejected) so far, so you can see the kind of name I love:

Thea (DH: too difficult to say?!?)
Camilla (DH: Parker-Bowles)
Nancy (DH: you must be joking)
Esther (DH: boring)
Kitty (DH: stupid name)
Pippa (DH: don't like)
Calista (DH too fancy/posh - actually, maybe I agree with him, I just love Callie....)

Any ideas?

I am thinking of suggesting Nora/Norah to him. I like it, but opinions?
Also thinking of Beatrix (but my boss has just called his daughter that) or Harriet.

Stuck!

Why not Callie then - or Carrie?

Because am iffy about such an obvious nn for a full name......

Oh also, I was think of suggesting Tessa.

But I need some more names - all my good ones have been rejected!

How long have you got before you have the baby?

Personally, I'd tell him that he has to come up with a list or you'll call the baby whatever you want.

Elenora nn Nora?
Beatrix is lovely
Cassandra - Cassie
Calista is pretty or Callie can be shortened from Caroline
Camille, rather than Camilla?

I think Harriet is a wonderful name but as I have a 5-year-old Harriet I may be biased. It suits our DD down to the ground whether she goes by that or Hattie and we only occasionally encounter another (but have yet to meet one of her age - they are mostly teenaged+).

OK not sure if this helps but people I know with similar taste to you.

A friend who has a Beatrix also has a Siana and an Imogen.

A friend who has a Pippa also has a Tessa.

Also Esther makes me think of Esther Williams which also makes me think of Ava, Mae Katherine (could be Kitty for short) and Clara (for example).

One of my fave names is Margot but I've never got it past my DH.

Good luck.
