Harvey

DH floated Harvey as a possibility this morning. What are your views?

I quite like it and we were previously thinking Henry so it's not a huge departure, but perhaps more modern.

The only thing that puts me off is Jordan having one!!!

I actually don't know any boy's called Harvey.

I do know a few dogs called Harvey though which kind of put's me off the name slightly. Only slightly though.

My DS is HArvey and I love it

My 9 year old nephew is Harvey and my sister was GUTTED when Jordan called her son it! I do love it though!

to me, Harvey is a 8' tall white Rabbit as 'Harvey' (old Jimmy Stewart film) is one of my favourites ever.

So whenever I meet a Harvey I think "hey, you look rather small and human to be called that!"

But just me.

Harvey is a traditional name, Jordan used it as it was her grandfather's name
I liked it from when i used to watch 'Shine on HArvey Moon'!

Harvey and Harry are worlds apart.

Do not like Harvey at all - to me, Harvey is a middle-aged man with a mahoosive pot-belly, drinking a can of lager and belching copiously.

Middle classes still use Harvey so I would not say it's only used by the c people. 10 years ago it was in a similar vein to something like Felix!

Btw there was a really AWFUL family in the supermarket the other day and the little boy was a little yobbish and his name was... Rufus! Really made me LOL as it wasn't expected. Could have been spelt Roophus though ;)

Charles/Charlie are not "chaverama" at all.

But like Zig says, Henry and Harvey are universes apart.

(I don't like either, for different reasons)

I don't really care - I'm more annoyed how popular it became after I named him - due to Charlie and Lola I think, I was deliberately going for a fairly unusual name.

I think possibly the Charlie/Charles thing is thanks (believe it or not!) to the Royals. Somehow a name used by the Royals is never, no matter who else uses it, going to end up on the chavometer.
