I can't work out how popular this name is. It seems to have gone down in popularity, some lists say 5 some lists say 24.

Am seriously considering it for baby due in April as it is THE name I have loved since 2005.
Every name I love ends up really popular and I don't want to settle for another name and end up regretting it.

I am very likely to use it but would like to ask this qiestion first.

(Also, if you have any suggestions for a middle name to follow I would appreciate it)

We're just outside Swindon Ds1 aged 5 has 1 Lily in his reception class - but 2 Libby's and 1 Millie as well so they all got a bit muddled in the first couple of weeks!! Ds2 aged 3 has 1 Lily in his pre-school. I'm also aware of a 6 month old ish Lily but that's all.

I love the name Lily - would be one of my choices if I ever had a girl - am currently expecting ds3 so not likey!

Middle names - Rose, May???

We have 1 lillie at my dc school, i know of 1 other. i dont think it will get any more popular than it already is tho. i worked on delivery suit most of last yr and did hear of a lily during that time. loads of macy, lexi, gracie, ruby, may, and millions of daisy's. i live in south west btw.

OOOOOOH Katylou I'm near Swindon! I know loads here. Very popular name. Sometimes it's nice to know that everyone else likes the same name as you though I think, shows you have good taste

So they seem to be 3 or older then so far?

Am thinking if I call her Lily most of her friends will be Esme, Lexi, Darcey etc.

if you like it i'd go for it. we spent months and months picking a name that wasn't too popular and then our child's godparents copied it for their child

I know 7 little girls/baby girls named Lily. One is 5 but the others are all under 2. It is very popular around here at the moment.

My friend lives in London and her son has 3 in his nursery class.

Pretty name though!

I'm not in the South but I have a Lily aged 6, she is the only one in her class but there are another 2 in the year below.

Aside from these ones I don't know any others. It's not as overused as people think.

If you love it go for it! It's a beautiful name and I still love it loads.

Hi i'm in Salisbury, i know 3 Lilys, one is 6, one is 2, and one is 10.
I love the name though. I called my daughter Imogen (she's 11) and at the time i thought it wasn't popular, but there's another Imogen in her class and there was at nursery too !
I called my last daughter Summer Eloise, she's 20 months and at the time i'd not heard either name much but now i know several . I still love the names we chose though so i'm glad we called them what we did
If you love Lily and have done for a time then i'd go for it.
