I really like these names but for boys rather than girls. Would it be so wrong to use these for boys?

You forgot Tracy, that too can be used for a boy.

Not that I would personally use any of them.

I knew a boy called Stacey at school although I'm wondering if he really was a girl and I've just mis-remembered...

What about Shirley?

That was Big Daddy's name

Lesley/Leslie is equally attractive or just go the whole hog and have a boy named Sue

I think Bernard is nice for a girl.

I know a man called Beverley and another called Tracy.
Not sure whether it is good idea though.

Nursey!!

Sorry OP - I think they might all actually have originally been surnames, then boy's names, then girl's names, anyway. Like Ashley or Lesley or Shirley, as has been said. But I don't think you can use them for boys now, as that's not what people will think of. Don't like them much for girls either to tell the truth.

Kim would be just about acceptable.
DH would probably shoot it down though.

Margarine for a girl?

I know a few guys named Kelly. That to me seems pretty normal. I also know a guy named Shannon and another Tracy.

But please take in consideration that these boys have to grow up with these names! Please at least pick a boyish name for his middle so if he is extremely embarrassed, he has another name to fall back on

Courtney possibly (think Courtney Pine) but not the others

I have an antiquarian baby name book which lists Oscar as a girls only name - honest!

Boys/girls names change over time but it'd be cruel to give a DS a name they'd most certainly get teased for.

Why would you inflict a name like that on anyone, boy or girl?

I knew a man called Stacey who was an utter twat - but he had a Ferrari so did well with the ladies.

Also knew a chap called Kim whose opening gambit was "My name is Kim but you can call me Sue". I suppose he knew he had to take it on the chin!
