Thanks ladycee!Don't want people to say that I'm trying too hard with a name like that. But I do like it.Only don't think there is a good shortened nick name for it though x

I think Giselle is so beautiful that would be a pity to shorten it use it as it is.

It's a nice name...makes me think automatically of the supermodel though, so you'll probably have to endure people asking if you named your DD after the model!

I was at school with an incredibly smart and stylish Giselle. She was soemthing of a genius on the violin, too. Name sometimes shortened to Gigi.

I was nearly a Giselle... after my dad suggested Gisela after one of his ex-girlfriends, and my older sister (15 years) softened it to Giselle.
Needless to say my mum was having NONE OF IT ....
Bad move dad.....
FWIW I think it's lovely, and Gigi is a really sweet NN for a young girl.
I think it's a bit similar to Ellis, but not enough to discount IMO.

I LOVE Giselle. It could be shortened to Gizzi or Ella or easily kept as Giselle. I do think it is a bit too simlar to Ellis, though.

Gigi is quite nice, but Gizzi is a bit close to jism (sorry, but I would take that into account). Are you French - with a French accent it's lovely.

I think it is a nice name.

But you have to be very, very careful with nicknames.... Giz or Gizzy are not good names for anyone to have!

Lovely name, but too similar to Ellis.

Don't think it's similar to Ellis at all? If your son was called Michel then maybe... I know a Giselle and her mum calls her Gige a lot, which is really sweet (pron: jeej) or Gigi.

Thanks for all the very helful advice.I know some people could think it's similar to Ellis.Gigi is a lovely nick name aswell.
I know how some of you can think of the supermodel but so hard to think of a name that is pretty but not too popular!I love Mia and Olivia for example but everyone tells me it's too over used etc.So hard choosing a name!!!Thanks again!xx
