DC2 (a boy) is due this Sunday and I think we have narrowed it down now to either Alexander (Alex) or Felix as both go well with our surname.

Thoughts please to help us decide!

Prefer Alex (Alexander) as it is classic and timeless.

Felix reminds me of the Odd Couple and Cat Food....

I like both

Id keep them both in mind and see which suits him best. Love them both by the way, can see why you are finding it hard to choose which.

What is your surname? Does one name go better than the other?

Think both names probably go equally well with our surname tbh. This is part of how we have arrived at these final two!

Came on to post that Felix is a cat's name - the saw I wasn't the first.

Alexander (Alex) is lovely.

Alexander - no question

Only Felix i knew was arrogant and a total pain so has put me off that name for life!

Hi Suwoo, hope all still going well with you and ds! I suppose the names are quite different in style but the ending in x does work well with our shit awkward surname. Does your choice of name "feel right" now that ds is here? Saw photo on your profile btw, he is just adorable. Congrats again.

Hey how bizzare, I also had these 2 names and now have 15 month old called "Alexander Felix" what are the chances??!

Good luck!

Thanks magbags, all going well here. I am delighted that we chose Felix and we haven't had any sarky comments thus far- although people may have thought them. We have a daft surname too, that nothing actually 'goes' with. Are we friends on facebook?

cassell · 19/08/2009 18:32

I'd go for Alex, sorry but Felix makes me think of the cat adverts...

magbags · 19/08/2009 18:33

PDR, that is a bizarre coincidence! Had convinced myself that middle name should be a family name but maybe I'll reconsider.
