What name goes best with my boys names, Ruby or Lola??

Hi all,

I am due in November with a girl and I'm really struggling for a name. The two names we have at the moment are Ruby and Lola. We already have two boys who are called Taylor and Harry (Harrison but always called Harry!) which one do you think think goes best with the boys names, or does it matter??

Thanks

Depends on how they would go with your surname. I'm guessing the short vowel sounds at the end of both would be good with just about anything. Lola reminds me of that song L-O-L-A Lola, so Ruby, even with Ruby Tuesday. L-O-L-A turned out to be a fella, but Ruby was most likely a gal.

Yes, Lola was a transvestite, so Ruby.

Ruby I already love that name anyway so a bit biased though.

I think Lola goes better with those boy names.
Does your boy Taylor get confusion over his gender? I have several Girl Taylors in my family, not heard it as a boy name before.

I prefer Ruby.

But your daughter will be a person in her own right, and will eventually be apart from your boys once they're older.

Go for the name you like.

Ruby goes better I think and is nicer.

Thanks for the replies.

No never had any confusion over his gender lljkk. All the Taylors we know are boys.

My two favourite names! Couldn't wait til we had kids, so called our two pups Ruby and Lola( this was 15 years ago, both sadly passed now after long wonderful lives) .Both great names, never tired of them. My daughter wishes we'd saved Ruby for her though.

For what it's worth, I love Lola (biased maybe)

My name is actually Laura but my family have called me Lola most of my life.

I actually love Ruby and that was the name we had chosen for DD even after the kaiser chiefs version. But then charlotte church chose it and then it seemed to escalate in our area and everyone seemed to be choosing it.

And just for information, Lola was not only a transvestite but also a showgirl, with yellow flowers in her hair...
