Clover or Primrose

Which do you prefer, if either, for a first name? Older sisters already have Daisy, Violet and Ivy between them and would like to continue the theme!

i love them both actually. have had them on my girls list for all 3 pregnanices, but keep ending up with boys so far lol

the only thing that puts me of clover slightly is the margarine connotation. But I think i'd still uise it cos it's a lovely name

Primrose goes better than Clover with Daisy, Violet and Ivy.

Not that keen on either but if I had to choose I prefer Primrose.
Clover makes me think of spread. Mind you so does Flora, but I still love that name...

Primrose makes me think of the Darling Buds of May, but then the girls in that were all very beautiful so it could be much worse!

So Primrose has the edge so far- should have said, Violet and Ivy are middle names, dd2 is Mabel-Daisy. So Primrose or Clover would be the only one with a flowery first name.

Sorry but I think these are names best reserved for cows. OK for a middle name, but not good for a first - what would you se as nns?

slowreadingprogress- we won't be using a hyphen this time. But as I have posted, dd2 has a hyphened first name, I never realised that makes a name ugly!

Nooka, I think they are both lovely names for a baby, or a cow! I guess Clover wouldn't have a nn, and Primrose would probably be Prim, if anything.

or you could always take influence from Jamie and Jools Oliver and go with Petal Blossom or Rainbow????

neither - why don't you change your theme slightly? shows more origanality imo. Clover is a spread or a cow - Primose is a cow or a character from Fifi and the Flowertots

I prefer Poppy, Iris, Lily or Rose they are less animal-like names.

Having only ever named animals things such as fluffy,scooter etc I didn't realise both my dc have popular cat/dog names and I hate it when people say my pet has the same name as your dc.

Clover was the sister of Katy Carr from the "What Katy Did" books which I totally adored as a child.

Both names are delightful.

I know an 11 year old Primrose, and thinks its a really pretty name. it has never made me think of a cow!

Likewise, Clover is lovely. Either is a really nice pick.
