Baby names

I think it's odd to call your children Wilf and Fred.

Wilfred is one name, not two.

It's like calling them Emma and Lee. Or Anne and Gus. Or Jo and Anna. Or Rob and Bert. Or Rach and Chelle. Or Pam and Ella. Or Dave and Id. Okay, not like Dave and Id, but it is odd.

Lol at Dave and Id. That would be strange!

It does sound a bit strange as I always thought that Wilf was short for Wilfred and you wouldn't have a Wilfred and and a Frederick would you?

My sister works at a hospital and I remember her telling me that twin girls had both been given the same name because the parents liked it so much.

That would save on nametags I suppose.

Yes but only if you have them in that order. Fred and Wilf would be fine.

When I was expecting DS2 (nearly 24 years ago) I really loved the name Jonathan, and was very upset when SIL, who gave birth a few weeks before me chose it for DN.
After the birth DH vetoed my choice of Joseph Nathan (Joe Nathan!). I'm so glad he did.
