my ds is 4 next week and he's a nathan, so i like it, its not popular i dont know another nathan his age

Very popular there are at least 5 in my kids school (200 pupils). Nice name though.

I think Nathaniel is nicer and you have the option of using Nathan for short.

i agree that Nathaniel is nicer. Nathan always sounds sharp & mean, I think

I think because it reminds me of the word 'knife'

nathan is quite of it's time- my friends son is Nathaniel (she shortens it to nat)which is IMHO nicer

I like Nathan, but then I'm biased as it's the name we've chosen if ours is a boy .

It means 'gift from god' and having had 3 mc's that's exactly what it feels like to us.

I love the name. Think I also chose it partly because of the meaning.

In my book it says, A gift from God, another son. To me it seemed perfect for DS3.

Only know of one other Nathan locally who is 2/3 years older than DS3. Unfortunately his surname is West!

Nathan means gift. Nathaniel means gift from God. I keep reading in all the baby books that Nathan means gift from God but that is actually incorrect - any name ending in "iel" refers to God.

I love the name, btw.

My dh loves loves loves the name Nathan... but i just can't... although i do really really like Nate...

Nathan will always make me think of NKOTB...
