Middle name for George?

Our first child's due in 6 weeks & we've decided he'll be called 'George'. We're stuck for a middle name, though.

DH likes 'Robert', which I also quite like, but our surname begins with an 'M', & I can only think that the initials look like 'GERM' He's also rejected the other name that we were considering (William) on the basis that we can't have a 'George W.'.

What else could we consider?

GRM wouldn't make me think of germ.

Was also going to say Thomas, or Daniel, or Albert, Arthur, Andrew or Edward.

Is your surname Bush? If not I can't see the problem with George W something.

I like a few 'J' names, but agree that they are a bit clumsy with George.

Some of the suggestions are really good - will have to show DH this thread when he gets home in an hour or so. Even if he doesn't like them, there's some more inspiration there! Thank you - will let you know if we reach a conclusion!

If you are big into Star Wars he could be:
George Lucas! lol

I agree with DH, George W is out.

I think George Robert is fine.

Weird, was going to suggest only one name - Robert - and don't know why -- not even particularly keen on it, just think it sounds great with George. Then opened thread and that is the name you were thinking of!! I don't think many people would associate GRM with germ - also, initials aren't THAT important are they - not that many people see them and as long as they aren't Thomas Walter Arthur Townsend or something....!

George Edward flows well, or you could add another middle name to change the initials, George Robert David M etc

Our favourites so far (based on both of our personal tastes & various necessary exclusions due to family names, etc) are:

George Samuel
George Thomas
George Nathan

The George bit was easy - I didn't expect middle names to be so difficult!
