Hello, new here and after opinions on the name Heidi.
Do you think she will get teased too much with the heidi hi /yodeling connotations?

I love it.
Don't think the Heidi story is as well known these days so hopefully no teasing.
We certainly had it as a possible on our list.

Way too cutesy for me. I just think of blonde pigtails and lederhosen.

Really bad - sorry.

Too cute, a bit silly, not good for a grown up and Kerry Katona liked it......!

I think it's a lovely name.

Hi de hi! Ho de ho!

That probably means nothing if you are under 35 though....

I like it. It would be a lovely sister name for Greta or Olga or Ingrid or Kirsty.

I love it. I have a scandinavian friend called Heidi prounounced "hay-dee" rather than "Hi-dee" but love both.

I wouldn't let the fact that Kerry Katona used it put you off. If you did that you'd never find a name and she'll probably be forgotten in a few years.

My 12 year old daugher's friend is called Heidi and she has never had any problems - I think it's lovely.

don't like it - just makes you think of a girl in plaits. Possibly cute name for a kid but embarrassing for an adult.

I wouldn't be put off by the Kerry Katona connection. Are Molly, Lily and Max out now too for that reason?

(had to use wikipedia for her kids names btw, didn't know them off the top of my head, I swear!)

Beautiful name for both a child and an adult, I would be quite happy to be called Heidi, celebs call their kids all sorts of names, don't be put off by KK's dd3.

Name your daughter the name you have chosen and love

Think it's a lovely name, but surely you should spell it Hydee ?

Have an adult friend called Heidi who loves it too.

Thank you for your opinions - I know it's either love it or hate it but the loves seem to outweigh he hates. Both our families like it so that is the main thing. I'm not bothered about the Kerry Katona link - she'll soon be forgotten!
Heidi is actually my husand's top choice. I like it but prefer Phoebe which also seems to divide opinions!

I think it is a lovely name.

I wanted this for dd1, but, if you put it with our surname it sounded like a character out of Harry Potter.

Love the name spoilt by the lady of Frozen Iceland
