I always loved the names Rebecca/Rebecka and Teresa/Theresa....bearing in mind that in Germany those were unusual names at the time....(seventies)

I loved Romilly but forgot about it when dd was born. Always v happy with my name which was extremely unusual when I was growing up and ca't get used to hearing it shouted in the supermarket now.

Hate my name with a passion. Always dreamed of changing it. Do adults do this really? How? Good Q re chosing one - would love a new name. Mine is one of the worst ever. Thanks mum

I can't imagine being anything else than what I am but then I have no imagination.

Also no sense of self image so not sure what I would suit iyswim. People vary it themselves anyway...it has options thankfully.

I'd like to be called something glamorous and unusual.
(my name is very ordinary and quite 70's I think:
Clue: my mothers second choice of name for me was Christine.)

I guess Louise? Wish I had a nice name like that. for me, think 65 and boring

I'd like my middle name to be my first as my first is nice, but common and my middle name is dead pretty.

I wish I was called Jennifer. Would have been nice to at least have the option of the longer (and more elegant) version.

I love my name.

I love my sister's name - but I couldn't be called that too, else it would be confusing! I think I've just kind of got used to my name as it is really, though it is common.

nobody calls ne by my name anyway lol its nicknames all the way or Mrs ***

but i would have killed for a more exotic name when i was younger (there are literally millions of people with the same name as me and always at least 4 in my class at school same or different spellings etc)

I really love the name Octavia but think its just a little out there to call a child (although any Octavia's out there can prove me wrong) so might have liked to be called that myself - but am Elizabeth and I always loved how many other names you could call yourself from that.

Or Catherine.

I don't like my name as its common. There were loads of girls in my school with my name which is why I objected to dd2's name but DH and dd1 won that battle

My mum would have liked to have called me Kirstyn which I hate even more or Jamie (but spelled wrong she liked jaimee) I would rather have been Jamie.

As a teenager I always wanted to be called Louise. I do wonder whether I was "meant" to be called Claire, because if people ever get my name wrong, that is always what they go for. But I'm quite happy with my actual name and with the shortening of it that I use.

interesting one! i have a v common name - there were 9 of us in a year of 75 girls.... but my mum used an unusual spelling so I have always quite liked that.....

Apart from short period when I was about 11 when I idolised someone called Samantha and wished I was called that.

Actually, although love dd's name and am v glad I chose it, I would not want it for myself.....

I always wanted to be called Scarlett. My name is always getting shortened to something that i really hate which is really frustrating!

Actually I am luck in that while my name is very common it also has many variations, and I have gone through nearly all of them at various stages. Makes for a bit of a faff when writing Xmas cards though as I have to stop and remind myself what name the person knows me as!

Hollytree, when I was a Kid I used to know a girl, roughly samne age as me, who was called Octavia....had never heard that name before....but it is kinda a cool name!

SheSells...my mum was going to spell Kerstin with a C...but the registrar made her reconsider as my sisters name starts with C....probably not a bad thing...if I was a Boy I would have been Martin, which possibly would have been worse, lol....

MissAnne....there was a gorgeous german actress called Romy Schneider....she was beautyful...that was one of the other names I wanted to be called, when growing up! You have got a lucky dughter

lol Bumper

I hate my name. It was quite exclusive when I was growing up but now its probably more common and even slightly (hate this word) chav. If I had been a boy I would have been called Craig.

I always wanted to be Debbie when I was small now I would like to be Mia, Suzy or Fiona.
