I, personally, like Alice and Elizabeth from that list.

I'm not sure how to pronounce Chyler, Kamai, or Ksenia, which always puts me off a name - I like a name to be easily 'readable' to save having to spend half your life correcting it.

i like Alexia but not too keen on the others sorry, congratulations!

I like Evangeline and Meredith.

Alexia is a medical term for lack of speech, or something negative to do with speech.

Meredith is my favourite out of that lot.

Some of them are a bit of a mouthful imo.

Alexia sounds like a medical condition.

Chyler - Don't like it.
Elizabeth - Love it, great classic name, lots of nn potential.
Evangeline - It's okay.
Kamai - It's okay.
Katarina - Not to keen but I do like the nn Kat.
Ksenia - Don't like it.
Lillian - Nice.
Meredith - It's okay.

Chyler, Katmai and Ksenia - never heard of before and not sure how to pronounce. With these names, you will spend all your time either correcting people's pronunciation of them, or spelling them out.

The other names are nice. Especially like Evangeline and Meredith.

I do like Katarina and Cara and then the classic strong names, Alice and Elizabeth.
Which sounds best with the intended surname?
Then in fifth and sixth places, Meredith and Evangeline.

Alice and Elizabeth - lovely but a bit too classic for my tastes.

Evangeline, Lillian and Meredith - quite nice.

I don't like the rest.

Alexia - pretty but also a medical condition
Alice - lovely, also like Alicia
Candice- bit too American sounding for my tastes
Cara - OK
Chyler- no idea how to say it so not for me
Elizabeth - lovely classic
Evangeline - makes me think of a cartoon, not sure why
Kamai - ? no idea how to say this either
Katarina - OK
Ksenia - this looks made up to me
Lillian - love this one
Meredith - pretty

From your list I would use Alice, Elisabeth or Lillian

How do you pronounce Ksenia? Kiss-enia? Kih-sen-ia?

I like Meredith, Alice, Katarina, Elizabeth and Lillian from your list. I don't like Chyler at all.

I like Meredith, Alice, Elizabeth and Katerina. Lillian is OK but would inevitably become Lily, which I'm not a fan of. Not a fan of Candice, Kamai or Chyler (have no idea how this is pronounced - is it similar to Schuyler/Skylar?)

I like Evangeline and Meredith, not keen on any of the others.

Hi all, thank you for your opinions.

I didn't realize Alexia was a medical condition - I thought it was just a shortening of Alexandria, thank you, I guess that's crossed off now.

Ksenia is not made up - it is Russian and the name of my best friend. Another spelling is Xenia, but it is pronounced slightly differently and I thought Ksenia would be easier to look at and say than Xenia - is it not? Ksenia is pronounced ku-sen-ya while Xenia has 4 different pronunciations, one of which is sen-ya.

Kamai was a typo, it is meant to be Kamini, but I guess we have a nickname now if we pick that. (Ka-me-knee).

Chyler is ky-ler.

To add, we're looking for a sister for Carissa, Daisy and Simon.

In that case, I think Lillian and Evangeline go best with the other sibling names.

Alisvolatpropiis · 01/09/2014 21:38

I think Xenia would be easier for people to get their head around, because of Xavier being fairly well known the X beginning isn't massively confusing. Whereas Ks start is very different to English language patterns of spelling.

I think the names I mentioned liking upthread work well with your existing children's names. A good friend of mine is called Carissa, makes me smile just seeing the name, she's fab.

I like Alice, Elizabeth, Evangeline, Katarina and Ksenia.

I think Meredith, Lillian and Evangeline go best with the sibling names. Cara is too close to Clarissa.

Sophronia · 02/09/2014 01:29

Sorry, that should say Carissa!

Alexia - Lovely, feminine but with gravitas
Alice - Lovely name
Candice - stripper
Cara - nice enough
Chyler - yuck
Elizabeth - classic and a plethora of nns
Evangeline - wears a cape and a mask
Kamai - looks like a phonetic representation of how they say Kimmy on Kath and Kim

Katarina - Pretty and strong
Ksenia - how do you pronounce that?
Lillian - is a librarian
Meredith - is Lillian's bookish sister.

LoxleyBarrett · 02/09/2014 06:17

Cece - are you sure Alexia is a medical condition? Ar you confusing with ataxia?

Cara
katarina.

Both lovely.

How about Zena for Ksenia?
Chyler sounds too much like Kyle/Kylie, so it's a no from me.

I like the rest though.
