Do you like the name your mum gave you?

You are right.
Your Mum is clearly a loon Grin

Even if it were the other way round though, if it's your baby, it's your choice - she's had her turn.

i do like my name, and all my children have unusual names (i already have four), but i thought Tiger was a step too far. that being said, oldest dc has a very.unusual name that totally suits her and many people where a bit Hmm when they first heard it. maybe it will grow on me... Grin

I know two female Tigers (London obv.) They seem to suit them well!

I must be crazy but it's starting to sound normal. THere seem to be a few tiger lilys out there, and then boys called Tadhg are sometimes nick named tiger.

We can't have Tiger Lily unfortunately. I'm liking Tiger Tia though. Mum insists it's her turn to choose the name... Maybe I could make it work!

Regardless of what the name is I don't understand why your mum thinks she has the right to choose it?!
Name your child the name you like surely?

Just tell your mum that you'll be having a human baby and not a kitten?

I find this odd.. What's it got to do with your mum? Your baby your choice.. Or am I missing something here?

Tiger Tia? I'm watching 2 Headed Shark Attack and I thought that was ridiculous until I read that name.

Well, baby arrived 10 weeks early last week and has been named Tiger-Rose with Matilda as her middle name.

Those people asking why my mum had such a say, I'm not sure she did really, but after she mentioned it my dh fell in love with the name and that was that! She was Tiger all through the pregnancy and it just kind of stuck. I did try to make other suggestions but nothing else seemed to fit and actually it really suits her. I wasn't sure for a long time but adding the Rose to it seems to work and she is a gorgeous little thing.

It's cute! I know of one Tiger - his brother Jaguar was in my DD's class.
