Help me choose a boy's name

Which of these do you think is the nicest boy's name? The surname begins with L, in case that helps. I will put them in order of my preference - help will be appreciated!

  1. Wesley (I like this because it's unusual in our area and quite old fashioned)
  2. Lewis
  3. Jared
  4. Rob

Those are my top 4 but I'm stuck between them!

I like Jared.

Does Lewis sound OK with your surname?

Well our surname is Lake (quite common so doubt it will out me!)

Lewis Lake does sound quite catchy.

I love Lewis.

I like all of them, Jared most and Lewis second. I prefer Robert to Rob for the birth certificate but Rob is a nice name.

Jared is my favourite from your list. My dh is called Wesley, his only gripe is he gets called Lesley and Les. It seems to be what people hear when he introduces himself. Don't think it's a deal breaker.

When I said Lewis Lake out loud to DP, he said it made him think of Lois Lane Grin it did make me laugh but I doubt everyone would think of that, would they?

I like Rob if it's a nickname for Robert, but not on its own. Otherwise I like Jared the best.

I love both Wesley and Jared, but I feel Jared goes better with your surname.

Jared definitely goes best with the surname.

...I though Lois lane too.

I like Jared best. Not that keen on Wesley, I get that it is unusual nowadays but it makes me think Weasley or Weasel y

not keen on Wesley. Wesley Lake sounds a bit of a mouthful. Lewis Lake sounds like a pretty cool dude though.

Love Wesley, but not sure how wll it works with Lake.

Dislike the name Jared, and don't like the alliteration of Lewis. Robert Lake sounds fine, but Rob Lake sounds a bit, '80s movie star-esque.'

Hmm I might rethink. I'm looking for something that's not too common and would go well with our surname. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I like Lewis and Jared, but will suggest Conrad and Wreford as you're after more suggestions.

Three-syllable first names would go well with Lake. Like, Oliver Lake. Christian Lake. Jonathan Lake. Dominic, Abraham, etc.

Or Emerson? ;)
