Help!! This is SO hard!

When we had our son (Hugo), we were 100% sure about his name. Our parents chipped in suggesting they weren't big fans of the name and we didn't care... That was his name!

We're now pregnant with a little girl and we just can't decide on a name. We're really struggling!!! We like short, classic names that are unlikely to be abbreviated... Names that are sweet for a little girl but also suitable for the Boardroom (!)... so to speak.

So, we've decided to put the current top 2 to a vote! Any other ideas welcome!

Ava
Ella

Thank you in advance!

Xx

Nice but really quite popular at the moment. I personally feel that Ella has had it's day and I know about 6 Ava's my DD1's age (3) along with Eva, Evie, Edith, Edie, Ivy etc. sorry if I'm making your decision harder. Although any names I suggest might be the same, but may not be as commonly used.
What about Hannah? or Annie?
Btw Hugo is a fab name Smile

Ava and Ella are massively popular at the moment. Not trying to deter you at all, just Hugo is less common (popular common rather than naff common if that makes sense) so id be surprised to see a pair named Hugo and Ella/Ava

Someone aboves suggestion of Nancy is lovely and seems to sit well next to Hugo.

I have an Ava, so I'm a bit biased! I keep hearing it's popular but she's 5 now and we have yet to meet another one.

Ava is beautiful but it is THE MOST popular name among by DD's friends (3&4 year olds) by a mile. Literally a quarter of all the little girls we know seem to be called Ava! Just written party invites to Ava A, Ava C, Ava E, Ava H, Ava St & Ava Sch! So Ella gets my vote, although that may be as popular in other areas (I'm NW).
