Eleanor Alice?

But would be known as "Nell"? (Great-grandmother's name)

Would the poor child have Nelly the elephant sung at them for the rest of their known life?

BTW - I'm not overly keen on "Ellie" as a nn as it's so widespread now.

Thoughts??

Eleanor and Alice are both lovely names. I'm not sure how well they go together but as I say they are both lovely.

I like Nell too. Wouldn't worry about Nelly the Elephant.

Middle name is not set in stone, but also has personal meaning for me and DH.

Thanks for the reassurance. DH is still on the fence….

If Nelly the Elephant becomes more than a short period annoying name calling for her, she could become Elle or use Eleanor. I don't think it will be a problem though.

I really like both names but don't think they flow together well.

I have one of each. My Eleanor is just Eleanor, and I get annoyed if anyone calls her Ellie, and they know it. Otherwise I'd have called her Ellie.

Penelope is another option.

I love the name Eleanor and had planned to use it if I had a girl. Not so sure about how well Alice goes with it. I like nell but would prefer to use the full name.

I don't like the name Eleanor personally because they all get called 'eleana' . If you like the middle name Alice then use it, but I don't think it flows.

I like it, I think the names are fine together, and I like Nell as a nickname for Eleanor. I also like it spelled Nelle.
