A brother or sister for Claudia

My DH and I seriously struggled to come up with dd's name. She is Claudia Margot, which was a compromise but I do love it. She has a second middle name but I don't want to make myself entirely identifiable.

DH has entirely different taste in names. He likes Diana Margaret, which although I like it, I don't want Diana link and Margaret too similar to Margot. For dd, my mother suggested Claudia and DH deemed it acceptable. I'm hoping that'll happen here too. These are my favourites:

Barnaby
Hector (DH approves so not struggling for a boy's name as is is what we would've used for a boy last time)

Fenella, known as Nell
Sylvie
Dahlia
Isadora
Nina
Romily
Clementine
Paloma
Leonora

If I like these, what else might I like? (I am only a tiny bit pregnant, but this could take the next eight moths......).

And I do want a name that goes with Claudia: that matters to me.

I have a Claudia with a brother William.

William would have been Leonora if a girl!

Also liked

Josephine
Hermione
Philippa
Verity
Hannah

That's hilarious, I was nearly Hannah or Verity. Love William, but surname begins with W so William sounded a bit jokey with it. Do like Josephine. How would you have shortened or wouldn't you?
Leonora I love, but do you think it'll get v popular with two new Euro Princesses?

Hugo? Harrison? Theodore?

Eleanora or Lorelei as an alternative to Leonora?

Love both Barnaby and Hector.

Not fond of many of your girls' names, sorry, though I do like Sylvie and that works nicely with Claudia.

I like Isadora but it's not good with Claudia imho. I'd avoid another 'a' name, personally. Claudia is so lovely and I don't think your girls' names are as good as it.

I also like:

Claudia and Vivienne
Claudia and Naomi
Claudia and Marianne
Claudia and Louise
Claudia and Gwendoline
Claudia and Verity
Claudia and Madeleine
Claudia and Susannah

Helena? Aurora? Agatha?

Rafferty called Rafe?

Do like Hugo a lot, as does DH, but our dentist had a still born son called Hugo and it feels like a crass thing to take her son's name and we aren't close enough to discuss it......

Theo is an ex of mine and Eleanor is an ex of his.

Remus, I think I do love pretty fanciful names for girls. This should probably be reined in. I'm glad it was for Claudia, but still pine after Romily and Fenella, which were my favourites.

Esmerelda with Esme for short? Cosette? I know it's pretty firmly attached to Les Mis now, but it is pretty :)

Jasper, Leo, Rufus, Orson, Oscar.

Beatrice, Adelaide, Pebelope, Phoebe, Matilda?

I really like Isadora. How about Beatrice or Miriam?

(I know a Claudia - her sister is called Carmen).

Ooh I do like Esmerelda, but that's the kind if name that makes DH guffaw, am afraid.

Do love Penelope but know two baby Penelopes already. Although could use nn Nell which was DH's mother's name.

Somehow don't love Beatrice. Prefer Beatrix but don't love that either. Sounds dowdy to my ear.

Agatha works well with Claudia ( am fine with two ending in 'a' names) but couldn't stand Aggie.

The boys' names I'm not worried about as we agreed on Hector before. I love Gabriel, Silas, Seth. Hector is a compromise, but one I do love, like Claudia was.

Please keep them coming....

Oh I can keep em coming all day! :o

Juliet? Annabel. Genevieve. Aurelia?

Charlotte? Georgiana? (I love that as Georgia, Georgie, and Gigi are adorable nns to my ear :) )

Caroline, Araminta, Natalia, Lucia.

It's interesting as names obviously 'group' farrow than I realised as I have a Claudia and love so many names mentioned here! Dd is Claudia Josephine but was nearly romilly or Beatrice

Vivienne is beautiful
I also love Greta and Arabella

Smug, do love Romily so much. Do you think it would be shortened to Milly? I hoped Romy but you never know....
Not helping me choose is the fact I've taught in secondary schools for seven years.

Love, love , love Paloma.
Also love Romily.

Both go fabulously with Claudia, another great name.

For boys love Seth, Silas and Solomon as well.

Might have to choose Paloma for a future cat as I'd forgotten how much I love this name!

Too old for any more dc's.

I like Hector but it doesn't go with Claudia just sounds wrong. Seth goes much better. Hugo, Milo, Arlo all sound good with it too.

Romily is nice, I'm not keen on your other choices.

Oh I like Isadora too, reminds me of Isadora Duncan.

Clemency is a lovely name and goes well with Claudia. Clemmie for short.

Giselle
Jemima / Gemima both can shorten to Gigi (like the film)

My dd is Claudia. I'm not telling my second dd as her name is so perfect it hurts. It's equally unused generally and old. :) smug yes sorry !!!
