Longer versions of Cas/Kit/similar? Also thoughts on Milo/Isaac/Reuben?

Hello again, for some reason I had to recreate my account, it wouldn't let me login Sad

Anyway it's me again (first little one, long surname beginning with F!)

I really like the nickname "Cas" but Cassius and Casper are both no's, can anyone think of any other boys names that could be shortened to Cas?

I also really like "Kit" but can't have Christopher, any other ideas?

Someone on here suggested Milo (thank you!) and we both kinda like it but can't think of any nicknames/shortened versions, so, any ideas on that one?

Isaac and Reuben are still riding high on the boys list too if anyone has any thoughts there…

Caspian? Cassian? Not sure for Kit. Reuben is lovely. Can I suggest Gabriel? They are all nice names!

Kester for Kit? If DD had been a boy she would have been Caspar shortened Kit.

Caspian? Casimir?

We have both a Cass and a Kit in the cousins - short for Cassius and Christopher though, which are out for you.

Christian for Kit? I know what you mean, I love Kit as a shortening, but dislike Christopher (and then the SIL got there first anyway).

Any of the -cas ending ones, perhaps Lucas? We really liked that as well, but didn't like Luke which it would almost definitely be shortened to.

Thank you Smile ooh I do like Caspian, definitely one to mention to him later!

Caspar/Casper I love but he really doesn't (the usual ghostie thing apparently) so I have to respect that Sad

I'm glad someone likes Reuben too, I think that's probably my personal favourite at the minute, I like it because it's so versatile: "Roo" is a cute nickname in the family, "Ben" is a nice straightforward name for the slightly more conventional members of the extended family and for later on if he decides he wants something less unusual…as I said, I like a name with choices lol (probably because mine's short and didn't come with any!)

I like Gabriel I just think as a couple of Atheists it might be a bit too religion-y but it is lovely...I know Reuben's in the bible too but it's not my first thought, whereas Gabriel I immediately think of the angel.

Ooh I'd never thought of something that ends in Cas as opposed to begins with it, brilliant idea...Lucas is unfortunately out (his nephew) but is there anything else similar?

There's Marcas which is the Irish and Scottish form of Mark. I can't think of any others ending in Cas.

Casper
Cassander
Cassidy
Casimir
Cassan

Kitson
Kitto
Kristian

I don't think Milo needs a nickname or a shortened version, it's already quite short.

Reuben is nice.

Thanks guys Smile yeah that was my only concern about Milo - whether or not it was a bit too pet-y...but then our dog's a Dexter which I know is a popular little boys name now so there's always overlap one way or another...I know Felix is really popular too...as long as we don't call him Rover or Fido I think we'll probably be ok Smile

I'd never even heard of Kitson as a name until today so thank you!

For Cass: Carson, Case, Cassiel, Cassien.

For Kit: Kurtis, Charlston, Kitrin,

I love Roo though! And Isaac, but it seems a bit mainstream for your taste.

Other literature-y names: Cormac, Holden, Sawyer,

Cass could be Casey?
Love Kit for Kester

I have a nephew Milo and he is often known as 'Mi'.

You could have 'Mil or Mils' though - which I think are quite sweet!

I like Cass just as it is, although I liked the suggestion 'Cassian' too.

And Roo for Ruben...love it!
