Less popular alternatives to Charlie and Oliver

Would love some help - only 10 days until due date and still undecided on a boys name... I love Charlie (would name Charles so he has the option when older) and Oliver but feel that perhaps they're too popular...

To give an idea of taste we also like...

Freddie
Archie
Flynn
Austin
James
Jack
Henry
Samuel
Harry
Alfie

Any other suggestions would be appreciated - thanks! xxx

Personally I would go for the name you love best regardless of popularity.

Anyway of your names I like Oliver, Henry, Samuel, Frederick (Freddie).

I wold also suggest William, George, Benjamin, Edward. All popular but classic.

That's the funny thing about so-called popular names. I know LOADS of Thomases/Toms/Tommys (all ages but lots of young kids too) whereas hardly any Olivers or Archies.

That's why I think you should go with the name you and DH love best as there is always a chance there will be more than one of the same name in your social circle/kids class etc...if you go for a classic name it will probably always be pretty popular - personally I would rather that than an "in"/"of the moment" name but that's just me!

My son is Aiden - popular but not in the top 20. Actually wasn't even my first choice but was the only name DH liked too. Now I think it's perfect. Good luck!

That was my exact choice too! Went with Oliver (7years ago) and although there are other Olivers in his school, there isn't one in his class and only 3/ 4 of them in 100 pupils which isn't too bad!
Anway, if asked he would have liked to be called Peter, which I think has a simlar vibe. I also love Rufus. Both less popular I think ...
Good luck

I have a Harry and a Charlie - cant really get more popular!

I love their names and don't regret it at all. Yes there may be more than one of them in their class but they won't be at school forever. We go to three different playgroups (they're only 2 and 1) and so far have only met one other Harry.

Go with the name you love and you can't go wrong.
