Vote needed! (We are changing DD's name, need help with the MN's)

DD was named 'Greta Ivy Clementine'

We are changing her name to Flora, she is Already known by this name, suits it,and it is not up for discussion

I need help on whether to ditch Greta completely,or include it with her MN's.
I don't want her to feel like she's lost any of her identity as she gets older, and we rather like it,it was her name when she was a newborn (not that I often used it) so it does have a sentimental element to it, but her name will be incredibly long with it included,as we also have a double barrelled surname.

So,a vote please,if you will;

  1. Flora Ivy Greta Clementine

    Or

  2. Flora Ivy Clementine

    Thanks

3 middle names is a bit excessive imo.

I like flora ivy clementine. Great is lovely but sounds harsh with the other names.

I was wondering what you went with the other day! Flora is lovely!

How old is she?

My vote would be 2 if she is still a baby but 1 if she is old enough to know (in which case you may as well just ask her).

She's 4 months,I could try asking,but I'm not sure i'd get a particularly useful answer..

I remember your original thread about her name OP!

Thematically, I would ditch the Greta so that you then get three nature based names.

Flora Ivy Clementine, as long as your surname doesn't begin with a K. :)

Option 2

Hmm....and you don't all think she'll be psychologically damaged if we completely bin her 'old' first name?

I agree that Flora Ivy Clementine is the nicest of the two...and I suppose I'd feel a bit silly reeling off her name and then the reason behind it,and in turn she'd have the same dilemma...

I would ditch Greta. Flora Ivy Clementine is a lovely name. With Greta too it's just too long I think. At 4 month, Greta wont really be a part of her identity yet.

Ditch Greta. In years to come you won't even think about it :)

Also F.I.G for initials are quite funny... even if followed by something else I'm sure everyone will nickname her Figgy when she gets to primary....

I'm not keen on the Flora Ivy combination, I'd get rid of Ivy and have Flora Greta Clementine. I think Flora is lovely.

Ditch Greta it's not very nice and 4 names is a lot. And bear in mind that any subsequent children will have to have 4 names as well (oh, yes they will- trust me) and it will get a bit silly. And you will run out of names and end up with Child 4 being called James Edward Asparagus Toaster or something just to make up the numbers.

God no,we already have 3 DC... Even if we did have more,I could name a hundred with my names list Wink

Ivy is DP's favourite,it's not being ditched.

Just Flora Clementine, don't like Ivy and Clementine (two grow-y things) together.

The other names aren't optional.

It's either no1 or no2

I think Clementine should be in the mix, lovely name but also balances out the short names IKYWIM.

Just seen your last message in that case I vote 2.

Flora...the spread? Just seeing some abuse at secondary school. Greta is lovely, timeless, elegant.
