Eira is the welsh word for snow, which is pronounced Ay-rah, but I think it's also used in Scandinavia and they would say Eye-rah. Either way, very pretty for a winter baby.

Also like Awen, (welsh for inspiration), Erin, Seren (welsh for star), Rosanna, Fleur, Annabel, Dawn, Tabitha, Wren, and Posy.

Ay-rah pronunciation of Eira is a particularly pretty version! Cute!
Any other delicate, pretty, non-clumsy girls names out there?

Are you likely to have a delicate girl...? If you are, for example, genetically tending towards the short and dumpy side of the size spectrum, Willow is not a particularly good choice. I"d go with something that isn't so descriptive IYSWIM.

That's a good point about willow, although my husband and I are tall people so she might be able to pull it off but you never know and it's a hard name to live up to perhaps....

DH and I loved willow for a girl and Finn for a boy, but as we're both short and plump, decided best not, in case they inherited our statures Wink
Sounds like your LO could carry Willow off though.
Do you like nature names?
jasmine, ivy, Cherry, Rowan,saffron, violet.

What if she's not delicate? I'd be very wary of names associated with a particular physical or personality type.

I think nature names are beautiful. I'm open to any pretty feminine 'light' names... X

Oh I love eira... If my baby is born in the car in the way to hospital whilst stuck in snow, that'd be lovely. Would it be strange to use a welsh name if not remotely welsh, though?!

Sorry op for the hijack!

Some lovely names here, but I hope you're prepared for your delicately named little girl to become a professional footballer/plumber/bond trader/stone mason/(insert other non-delicate profession here)!

Don't think it matters if a delicately named person becomes a star rugby player or plumber........
