It reminds me of that sloth-thing out of Ice Age Grin

It's a nice name though Smile

It's definitely old fashioned

But I doubt it would be too out of place.

Reminds me of Tetley tea. I'd imagine there's quite a few of them around, those kinds of names are very much in vogue.

I love it.........It reminds me of Sidney the naughty little boy in Joyce Grenfell's Nursery Sketches. I love the scene when they are choosing to be a flower........ "Oh very well Sidney you may be a cauliflower dear , only be it gently ! Grin

I like it but we didn't use it as we have American family and in the US it's very much a girls' name.

Other old fashioned names we liked:
Frank
Arthur
Ernie (Ernest)
Freddie (Wilfred or Frederick)
Stanley

I absolutely love it.

Makes me think of Sidney Crosby.

Artijoke - I have US family too, and it bugs me no end it's used as a girl's name in the States, there's nothing feminine about the name Sidney to me.

Although it's the Sydney spelling that's popular for girls.
