I detest this woman. I'd find her more acceptable if she judged the parents but she says she judges the children.

I think anyone who says they have no preconceptions at all if they hear a name like Britney or Chardonnay is fibbing BUT to ban your children from playing with them etc is outrageous.

Everything Katie Hopkins does is simply to get a reaction, she could maybe learn something from a Tyler or a Chardonnay, like not to be such a narrow minded stuck up cow. Oh and not to be such a hypocritical one too. She doesn't like seasonal nature driven or geographical names, but she has two girls called Poppy and India! Yes, really!

And then she tried to say India wasn't a geographical name. TWAT.

Her point that you don't hear Ilyana screamed across playgrounds is bollocks. The name I've heard screamed the loudest was Hugo, at some poor floppy haired toddler in Hyde Park.

And her point about needing to make a snap decision about someone - why? Why do you ever need to make a snap decision?

C**t.

She has a point about people prejudging others by their names. It happens, doesn't matter how much we might not like it,it does.

I'm unsure whether she was being genuine when saying "I don't let my children play with working class children" or just shooting fish in a barrel so to speak.

The India thing was hilarious mind.

I feel sorry for her - she is obviously deeply insecure. Normal people don't need to behave like her.

I don't understand why she would go to the trouble of singling out geographical names for derision. It just makes her look like a troll, saying things for effect.

My DD has a name which she goes out of her to approve of. Apparently such a name marks the parents out as educated. What an embarrassingly revealing statement about her. Does she think that all such parents scour through names, trying to pick the one that gives off just the right message? Or, because they simply like them, or wish to honour a family member (in our case), for instance?

She has no way of knowing of course, so could inadvertently end up aligning her chidren with other kids with the 'right' names for the wrong reasons - and of course, the flip side - missing out on friendships with lovely kids because they have the 'wrong' names.

Obviously it's impossible that she actually believes everything she says. It's just a mystery as to why she she want everything to think she is a buffoon of the highest order. The money can't be that good. Confused

I thought she was playing it up for the TV, but huge points to Holly for cutting her dead at the end. Ridiculous statements being spurted out of that woman's mouth - yuck x

I never truly understood the hatred (sp?) I read for her on this site before. In fairness I ignored all to do with her from what I've read. However having watched that clip I truly think she is a twat!

All I could think was pot kettle black. Hates children called after places but has a child called India. Hates fuddy names like seasons, etc and has a daughter called Poppy. She really proves her point.

One of my friends has a ds with a very classy, posh name which I'm sure KH would approve of.

My friend named her son after her Dh's barrister who managed to get him a shorter sentence than expected for armed robbery. Grin
