I adore Lara because of the film Dr Zhivago. Rose is lovely too.

Have you thought of Rosa? Only second thoughts are That Rose reminds me of Rose West - sorry, not a good association.

I'm avoiding MN Rose, it would only be an option as first name....I like both Lara and Rose but DH only likes Rose....conundrum!

Other options that DH likes are Matilda or Perdy. I've gone off of both of these though!

Like Lara but love Lyra more. Rose is nice but prefer it as a middle name.

Lyra Rose is fabbie imo!

Matilda has lots of cute shortening a - Tilly, Tils, Tilda, Matty. Mum abut, you are making me broody for a girl baby! I only have boys...

ha! Have found settling on a name a complete farce and so difficult though...think I've found the 'one' about four times now then within two weeks am back to square one!

As long as you have a few possibles then you can decide when you meet her. my colleague went right to the wire with her boy and decided on the way to register office at 6 weeks. And come to think of it, my other friend changed her son's name when he was 18 months old because it didn't suit him!

What about Araminta? Minty for short.

Tamsin
Tamara

Still like the name Lara Smile

Lara would suit a grown up woman more than Rose, I think. The problem with cute names is I can never imagine a 40 year old with a job and kids being called that name.
