I love Elodie

Don't like Alice (dull), Mirabelle (too much like a ski resort), Miri (nickname), Rosealie (dated and not in a good way) or Tansy (tansy??)

Annabelle is a doll :)

...so there you go, problem solved - Elodie it is Grin

Definitely Elodie. It's beautiful.

Don't like any of the others at all.

Mirabelle sounds like a doll.
Tansy sounds like a dog.
Miri sounds like software.
Alice, Annabelle, Elodie and Rosalie are all lovely.

Rosalie or Alice for me.

Miri, short for Miranda. MN Tansy. Like Elodie burnt quite popular now (depends if that bothers you).

I like them all but Elodie sounds a little like Melody missing the M.

Mirabelle with Miri as a NN would be very nice.

Really like Mirabelle. don't like Tansy (though do like Tamsin). Eloise is a name I have only come across on Mumsnet, where it is ragingly popular when discussed but I don't know if anyone actually uses it.

Eloise? See, autocorrect doesn't know Elodie either!

Alice - lovely classic name
Annabelle - prefer spelt Annabel
Elodie - like a lot but not a huge fan of Ellie
Mirabelle - not very keen
Miri - feels like only half a name
Rosalie - lovely
Tansy - again doesn't feel like a full name, could be short for Anastasia?

lottiegarbanzo · 10/02/2013 02:40

Also, prefer Rosalind to Rosalie.

mirabelle and elodie are our front runners alice as a middle name, so
Mirabelle Alice? or
Elodie Alice?

Either Alice or Annabelle (prefer Annabel spelling).

Rosalie is OK.

Elodie is quite nice but will date IMO.

Mirabelle, Miri and Tansy don't sound like proper names to me.

Well I'd go for Mirabelle Alice as the ls flow together nicely but with Elodie Alice, you have to insert a pause between the two vowel sounds.

Elodie Alice

Either Elodie or Mirabelle would be pretty I prefer Elodie with or without Alice as a second name... of course if you had Alice as a 3rd name eg Elodie Miri Alice it would be be perfect Wink

would mirabelle be too easily mispelt?

Alice is by far the nicest imo.

At a push Elodie. The rest aren't really my cup of tea.

My DD is Mirabella nn Mimi, she is gorgeous and we love love love her name. I have never come across another one (except bryan Adams daughter)

I like all except Miri which could be nn for Mirabelle if you liked.
Tansy is beautiful-how nice to have a flower name beyond Daisy/Poppy/Rose/Lily [which are all lovely]
Elodie Alice sounds good too.

Mirabelle could be Mirabel couldn't it? Just as there are Isabelle and Isabel.

Mirabel is an airport in Montreal but I don't think that should bother anyone. The name means wonderous, which is pretty fab!

I like a whole set of M names; Miriam, Marianne, Mirabelle and also like alternative 'bel' names e.g. Christabel, now that Isabel, which I have loved for years, has become so popular, so I really do like Mirabelle!
