I like that... Jayne is a name that's in underused IMO.

There have been so many Darcy/Darcey/Darcie threads on here recently - I keep clicking on them to see how the discussion has developed, only to discover they're new threads.

So - if you don't mind mass popularity, then go for it.

OK sorry, you didn't tell me the rules re what I was allowed to post and not allowed to. Wink

You did, however, ask what we thought and so - having been invited to contribute - I did so.

I love Darcy, but know it as a boys name. Though it works well as a girls, and I am pregnant with DS2 and all my favourite names can be used for either gender.
Prefer Jayne as a middle name.

At risk of being scolded in a similar fashion, I agree with midnight. Far too many Darcys at mo. Since Darcey Bussell started on Strictly I think there will be a rash of little Darceys starting school in 4 years.

Also, I have an irrational hatred of surnames used as first names, especially for girls, and I see Darcy as being in the same category as Madison etc on that front.

How about Marcia? That's similar but much nicer (imho).

I am not keen, just the 'arsey' sound would make me worry re teasing. I know a D'Arcy!

I've taught a Darcey Grace. I like it.

I Dont like Darcy sorry.

I know a lovely Darcy, but I don't like the name itself IYSWIM.

There are many lovelier middle names than Grace.

Report
HoratiaWinwood · 26/01/2013 14:32

Missed the update.

Using her grandmother's name as a middle name is much better!

NowPlayingZone · 27/01/2013 20:45

Prefer Jayne to Grace. Not as common & has some meaning.

PenelopePisstop · 27/01/2013 22:35

I think you might find Darcy will be the Kylie of it's age.
Or the Tracy

Sweet name and if you love it go for it. Jayne would be a lovely nod to your mum.

SavoyCabbage · 28/01/2013 11:21

Yes have it if you like it. I think it goes well with Jayne. I do think of it as a boys name.

I like it but it's very popular and will date quickly
