I already have a son Elliott and we have a potential boys name but unsure for a girl (due in 2 weeks!). I love both for different reasons so your opinions would be helpful!:

Phoebe Hope (worried a bit common) or.....
Colette Hope (worried a bit similar sounding to Elliott?)

Thanks :-)

Colette is very similar sound to Elliott, I wouldn't.

Phoebe is lovely :)

very nice names!

I love Hope and so would have that as the first name. But of your choice Phoebe. I know a grown up woman called Colette and have always thought that, though it is a beautiful name, it is just a little porny and thus makes it harder for her to get taken seriously at work.

Definitely Phoebe . I know a Collete and she is abit socially awkward.

thanks for the quick responses :-) never thought of Colette as at all 'porny' made me laugh!

I will be awkward and say Hope as a first name too. My favourite if we ever have another girl.

I would use Hope as the first name too.

Phoebe

I'd want to sing "Colette, the best a man can ge-e-et" in the style of a Gilette advert

I love Elliot, would have been my choice if I hadnt had girls!
My girl is Robyn which I love so so much. Cant put the other cause it will out me but it was very uncommon ten years ago (unheard of) and now is top 3. Angry

Don't like Phoebe at all, sorry, and do like Colette but wouldn't use it with Elliot.

Claudia?

Phoebe, lovely.

It could just be an association with one person but I think goes further, so I hear Colette as downmarket trying to be fancy, or worse (yes, porny).

Otoh, I think Celeste, Camille and Celia and lovely. also Clara and Claudia.

Phoebe is the name of my grandaughter--- I love it and her, she is the light of my life.
Elliot is the second name of one of my grandsons, I love that name too (and him)

Phoebe Hope is beautiful. Not keen on Colette. How about Cecilia? (Patron saint of music, if that association has meaning for you).

Phoebe definitely having the majority of votes :-) thank you so much for your honesty and suggestions on other names. I also love Hope as a name but think i like Phoebe more but wanted to get it in there somehow! (I'll probably now change my mind in hospital and go for Hope)

having said all this..... baby will probably be a boy (Benjamin) now!

I agree with others. I like Colette, but too similar to Elliot I think. Phoebe for me.
