I quite like all of them apart from Penelope, which is dreadful to my ear. Hmm, in order I'd go for:

Cordelia
Tabitha
Clementine
Beatrix
Juno
.
.
.

Penelope

I like Penelope, Beatrix and Cordelia.

For me, Clemetine is pretty but just too 'orange'....and Juno is pretentious.

Cordelia - love - seriously considered for DD but was put off by lack of obvious nickname - maybe Cora/Cori?
Clementine - lovely - could be Clem or Minty
Juno - but faddy for me, makes me think of the tim
Beatrix - good but prefer Beatrice myself
Tabitha - not so keen
Penelope - love

Love Tabitha, like Juno, the rest re nice but a bit girly/frilly for my taste (although I would also put Tabitha into that category, so my tastes are a bit inconsistent, sorry!)

Penelope- Love, how cute would a wee Penny running about be?
Cordelia- Love, especially if you shorten to Cora....or Delia, but she may have people asking her how to boil eggs.
Tabitha- Really don't like. Makes me think of cats in clothes.
Beatrix- Meh. Just meh.
Juno- Oh No. She would go through life with people going, "oh, LIKE THE FILM?"

Like Tabitha and Beatrix and quite like Juno. Dont like the rest.

Report
Startail · 12/12/2012 10:41

I like them all except Juno
and Tabitha which is a name for a tabby cat, not a child.

Report
GoldPlatedNineDoors · 12/12/2012 10:41

Would go for Beatrice though as Beatrix makes.me think "Beer Tricks"

Juno is queen of the Roman Gods and married to her brother.

Generally, there is a dodgy aspect to all Greek and Roman Gods.

They are probably best avoided.

Love them all, especially Cordelia, Beatrix and Clementine. Juno is my least favourite.

Cordelia, Beatrix and Penelope ane good.

Juno is a film, Tabitha is a cat or a toddler witch and Clementine is a small orange.

Love most of them but hate Clementine, can't stand it, and Cordelia isn't a favourite.

The rest are all on my list, in this order:
Beatrix (nn Trixie), Penelope (nn Nell), Juno, Tabitha (Tabs/Kitty (but that one is cos I'm odd))

I like the Greek and Roman god's names (mainly, could probably leave Uranus), gives them a head start on family weirdness Grin

Cordelia & Beatrix/ce are my joint favourites. Clementine is pretty but I would go for Clemence/Clemency/Clementia for orange-related reasons. Wouldn't use Tabitha (cat), Penelope (don't like Penny) or Juno (sounds like a boy, which I know is totally irrational because it clearly isn't, I think it reminds me of Bruno, Inigo, Pluto etc.)

Londonelfinfestivecheerboots I like your idea of Kitty as a nn for Tabitha....tbh the cat thing sorta makes me like Tabitha even more....can I jump on the odd train Wink
