Love Honor. Do you have an Oscar already? They sound similar but not too similar, nice for a brother and sister.

Reminds me of that old rhyme "She offered her honour, and he honoured her offer, and it was offer and honour all night".

I know an Honor, she is great. She is known as Oni!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/12/2012 11:36

Oni means happiness in Finnish!

Yes I have Oscar already

They sound really good together.

Love Honor especially but it sounds like a command paired with my DP's surname so can never use it Sad

I think they are a little bit too 'close' sounding for me, but lovely names.

Report
Dynababy · 08/12/2012 18:03

Any other suggestions that go with Oscar if they are a bit close?

Honor is really lovely but I do think it's a bit to similar to Oscar for comfort. Although I know an Emily/Melanie and a Tanya/Tara and an Owen/Ewan and they all seem to get by just fine.

Honor is foul.

I have an Oscar and Lucy was top of my girl list for DC2 (who turned out to be a James)

Way too similar sounding for my taste.

Love Honor, would be on my list if OH ever lets me have another baby.

Miriam?
Pearl?

In my accent anyway they are very similar, and don't work at all.

Love Lucy and Pearl! Thanks!

I think they are too similar for siblings.
Hope?
Eleanor?
Iris?

I know someone whose two children have these names, so to them they work fine. I agree!

Report
Dynababy · 10/12/2012 18:13

Wow burcham similar taste to your friends or family! Thanks for that!

The only Honor I know is a teen and lovely, but has complained in recent years of boys making jokes about wanting to 'get on 'er'. It seems to have diminished some of her positive feelings about her name. Sad

Both lovely names [biased as I have an Oscar!] not sure they go together.

Our girl's shortlist was:
Freya
Maribel
Isabelle (the whole name, not fucking Bella!)
Milena

Feel free to mock!!!

Haha Vamosbebe

We're the same, our little girl is going to be Isabelle, NOT Izzy, NOT Bella. If anything Belle for short. But yes Isabelle!

I love Honor. Very pretty girls name.
